Reebok Crosstrainers
Reebok elliptical cross trainers are built by the world’s largest fitness equipment manufacturer; Icon Fitness. Many people are unaware that Reebok elliptical trainers have nothing to do with the recognised shoe company. It was a smart move on the part of Icon Fitness when it bought the license to put the Reebok name to use on one of their many lines of fitness equipment. They also license Gold’s Gym brands. Their line of Reebok elliptical machines is for the upper end of the middle market.
Icon realised people associated Reebok with quality in the fitness shoe and apparel sector so it was a clever marketing move to license the brand name of Reebok. By doing so they produce Reebok elliptical trainers that offer both style and performance that doesn’t have to break the bank.
Reebok Fitness Equipment
Reebok itself is an American based company globally recognized for creating and marketing fitness and lifestyle products. The brand is committed to designing products that are an inspiration in the fitness market. Reebok believes in creating products that are both innovative as well as exciting. The new fitness exercise in the 1980s; aerobic dancing saw a massive increase in the selling of shoes for women. Reebok seized the opportunity and introduced the first athletic shoe for women, the shoe was called Freestyle. Not only were they successful in athletic wear they were popular in casual wear too because of their comfortable styling. Explosive growth followed which led to Reebok becoming an industry leader.
A brief history of Reebok
For a brief glimpse of the history of Reebok, you have to go back to the 1890-1930s era. It was at this time J.W. Foster was to start a business making the first known running shoes. The company was founded in Bolton UK and was soon making shoes by hand for top athletes. It wasn’t long before J.W Foster & Sons developed international recognition by distinguished athletes.
It was in 1958 that a companion company was set up by Joe and Jeff Foster that came to be known as Reebok. The name came from the Afrikaans spelling of rhebok, a type of gazelle. Today the Reebok’s headquarters are based in Canton, Massachusetts, USA and their products are in footwear, accessories and sportswear.
